SEND

Article 28 - Every child has the right to an education.

Article 23 - A child with a disability has the right to live a full and decent life with dignity and, as far as possible, independence and to play an active part in the community.

Here you can find our SEND Policy which outlines how we can support pupils with additional needs.

Mr Joel Beeden is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and Designated Teacher for Looked After Children (DTLAC) .

Ms Sarah Scarborough is our named Governor for SEND and LAC and supports the SENCo in their role.

Your child's class teacher will remain responsible for supporting and teaching your child effectively in order to meet their needs. They will seek and act upon advice from our school SENCO as they feel appropriate.

It is always best to contact your child's class teacher if you wish to discuss the support they are being given in school. In the event that more information is required, your child's class teacher may recommend making an appointment to speak with Mr Beeden. Please be aware that Mr Beeden has teaching commitments in addition to his SENCO role. The best way to contact him would be through the main school office.

Mr Beeden can be contacted with matters directly relating to send via email: senco@duckmanton.derbyshire.sch.uk. All contact details can be found in our school's SEN Report below:

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Policy

Our policy sets out the ways in which we support children and families with special educational needs and disabilities. It outlines what you should do if you have any concerns about your child's needs, or if your child has a disability and needs support.

Contact the School SENCO

Please be aware that your child's class teacher continues to be the main port-of-call when discussing your child's education. Urgent contact should be directed towards the school office either in person or by calling 01246 825 650
