Pupil Premium Funding
Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to schools to help improve the educational outcomes of disadvantaged pupils and to ensure that all children have equal opportunities to succeed.
Schools receive funding for pupils who are eligible for free school meals, have been eligible in the past six years, are looked-after or previously looked-after children, and children from service families.
At our school, Pupil Premium funding is carefully targeted to support pupils' academic achievement, wellbeing and wider opportunities. Funding may be used to provide additional teaching and intervention programmes, pastoral and emotional support, access to educational visits and enrichment activities, support with attendance, and resources that help children overcome barriers to learning.
We regularly review the impact of our spending to ensure that the funding is used effectively and makes a positive difference to pupils' progress, attainment and personal development.
How is Pupil Premium funding spent?
Sports Premium
The primary PE and sport premium was introduced in March 2013 to improve the provision of physical education and school sport in primary schools across England.
Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer. This means that you should use the Primary PE and Sport Premium to:
- Develop or add to the PE and sport activities that your school already offers.
- Build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years
The government’s aim is that all pupils leave primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
For the academic year 2025-2026 Duckmanton Primary School received a total of £17,518
